A little while ago there was a trend of Gen Z homebuyers purchasing their first home and realizing just how costly window treatments are. This is typically a large problem when you purchase a new construction home. You can easly spend over $1,000 purchasing blinds, curtains and curtain rods for all the windows.
When I first started real estate I walked through several homes that were severly out dated, but the one thing I could not understand were out dated curtains. Not everyone has the time, energy, money, nor knowledge on how to make major renovations and updates to their home. They can, however, remove and throw away their old flowery curtains that have been collecting dust since the 90's. I'll even offer to help!
If you're selling your home soon, I suggest you consider throwing away the curtains, but keep the blinds in place so the new owners have some sort of coverage. Blinds are typically generic in color and are easy to dust off. Don't forget to open them all during the showings to get the optimal amount of daylight to shine into your home!
